  • Organizational Mission:  Mission is to provide Fort Wayne Community Schools students with well-prepared tutors to help them achieve academic success.
  • Volunteer Opportunity: Study Connection is an after-school tutoring program sponsored by Fort Wayne Community Schools. Volunteers are matched one-to-one with students who have been identified as needing extra academic assistance. Pairs meet after the school day for one hour once a week during the school year. The majority of volunteers meet with their students at their places of business. FWCS provides transportation to and from the study sessions. The program also allows individuals to share a student, which is particularly beneficial for volunteers with extremely busy schedules but who would still like to participate.
  • Requirements: Volunteers must complete an application. Study Connection will obtain a limited criminal history check, contact references, and check each applicant against the sexual offender registry.

  • Time/Duration of Commitment: Volunteers are matched one-to-one with students who have been identified as needing extra homework assistance. Pairs meet for one hour each week after school during the school year.
